Advair Diskus is used for the treatment, control, prevention, and improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:
• Asthma
• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
• Allergic season and year
• Exercise-induced bronchoconstriction
• Allergic season and year
• Congestion/runny nose
• Itching and sneezing
• Itchy and watery eyes
• Asthma
• Exercise-induced bronchospasm
• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Side effects
The following is a list of possible side effects that may occur from all of the ingredients that make up Advair Diskus. This is not an exhaustive list. These side effects are possible, but do not always occur. Some of the side effects may be rare but serious, consult your doctor if you notice any of the following side effects, especially if they do not go away.
• Chest tightness
• Sore throat
• Nose bleeding
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Stomachache
• Sinus pain
• White spots or sores on the lips
• Hoarseness in the voice
• Nasal congestion
• Rhinitis
• Headache
• Asthma
• Bronchitis
• Influenza
• Skin rash
• Hypertension
• Sore throat
• Musculoskeletal pain
• Dizziness
Precautions
Before using this medication, tell your doctor about your current medication list, over-the-counter products (e.g., vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing conditions, and current conditions (e.g. , pregnancy, upcoming surgery, etc.). Some health conditions can make you more susceptible to the drug’s side effects. Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product label. The dosage will depend on your condition. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. The important points are listed below.
• Liver disease

• thin and fragile bones
• lung or chest infection
• breathing problems
If you take other medications or over-the-counter products at the same time, the effects of Advair Diskus may change. This may increase the risk of side effects or cause the medication not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you use, so your doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Advair Diskus may interact with the following drugs and products:
• Acetaminophen
• Albuterol
• Ascorbic acid
• Atazanavir
• Cetirizine
• Cholecalciferol
• Clarithromycin
• Cyanocobalamin
• Indinavir
• Itraconazole
Hypersensitivity to Advair Diskus is a contraindication. Additionally, Advair Diskus should not be taken if you have the following conditions:
• Allergic to it or any of the ingredients
• Allergic to milk proteins
• Breastfeeding
• Pregnant
• Plan to get pregnant
• inhaled corticosteroid
• acute episodes of asthma or COPD
• asthmatic status
• hypersensitivity
Missing a dose
In case you miss a dose, take it as soon as you notice. If it is near the time of your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your dosing schedule. Do not take an extra dose to make up for a missed dose. If you are regularly missing doses, it is recommended to set an alarm or ask a family member to remind you. Please consult your doctor to discuss changes to the dosing schedule or a new schedule to compensate for missed doses, if you have missed many doses recently.
Overdose of Advair Diskus
Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Taking more of the medication will not improve your symptoms, but may cause poisoning or serious side effects. If you suspect that you or anyone else who may have overdosed on Advair Diskus, please go to the hospital emergency room or from the nearest nursing home. Bring a medicine box, container or label with you to help doctors with the necessary information.
Do not give your medicines to other people, even if you know they have the same illness or seem to have similar illnesses. This can lead to an overdose
